Terms of service

1. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. You must give a real email address that you control, and confirm it with the code we send.
• One account is for one person. GrailVault is for individuals, not teams.
• You are responsible for keeping your master password, your recovery key and your devices safe, and for what happens under your account.

2. Your master password and recovery key: please read this

GrailVault is zero-knowledge. Your vault is encrypted with a key built from your master password, which we never receive. If you forget your master password and lose your recovery key, we cannot recover your vault, and nobody can. We cannot reset your master password. You accept this risk by using the service. Keep your recovery key somewhere safe and separate.

3. Free trial, plans and payment

• New accounts get a free trial of 14 days. No payment details are needed to start it.
• After the trial, paid plans cost ₹69 a month or ₹745.20 a year, in Indian rupees. Taxes may apply. Prices can change; a change applies to your next renewal and we will tell you before it does.
• Payments are made through Razorpay and renew automatically until you cancel. We do not receive or store your card, UPI or bank details.
• You can cancel at any time in the app. Cancelling stops renewal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. See the cancellation and refund policy.

4. When the trial or a plan ends

If your trial or plan ends and you have not paid, your vault becomes read-only. You can still sign in, view and export everything. You cannot add or change items until you choose a plan. We never delete your data because a plan ended.

5. What you may and may not do

Use GrailVault only for lawful purposes. Do not:

• attack, probe or overload the service, or try to get around its limits or security;
• use it to store material you have no right to store, or to harm others;
• resell the service, or let others use your account.

We may switch off an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk. When we do, we tell you why where we are allowed to, and we do not delete your data without a legal reason.

6. The browser extension

The extension is part of the service and is covered by these terms. It fills logins only on your click and only on the site a login was saved for. You are responsible for checking that a page is the site you intend before you fill a password.

7. Our service and its limits

• We work to keep GrailVault available and secure, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep an export or backup of anything you cannot afford to lose.
• The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by a lost master password or recovery key, your device being compromised, or events outside our control.
• To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
• Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. Deleting it erases your vault, sessions and activity log and cancels your subscription; it cannot be undone. We can end the service or your account with reasonable notice; if we end the service, we will give you time to export your data.

9. Your content

Your vault is yours. We have no rights to it beyond storing it, encrypted, so we can return it to you. We cannot read it.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights you have to use your local courts. Please write to us first at support@grailvault.in so we can try to solve the problem.
